South by Southwest Interactive took place last week in Austin, Texas. It lasted 5 days, all of which were packed with a total of 3,000 sessions. I attended about 15 sessions. While chatting with other attendees and reading various blogs about the event, I came up with 5 important trends: content curation, social-local apps, the changing business, big data and techstuff (for lack of a  executive leadership team in his position of chief product better collective term). I will explain them below.

 Content curation

Curation is a word you will hear a lot in the coming period. There is and will be so much content list of us mobile phone numbers databases  created that it has become difficult for the average person to find what he is looking for. Google helps, but not enough. Curation and/or curators make it easier for you. Curation can be done manually by real people via a blog or via other social media (see for example Brainpickings.org ), but you can also think of curation apps such as 22tracks and Spotify for music, Flipboard and Zite for articles. There will be more curators and curation apps, but the question is how to earn money from them.

Social-local apps

Twitter and Foursquare have “broken through” at SXSW in recent years. This year, it was thought that the social app Highlight would do the same . This app lets you spot people near you who also own the app   . Content is not a and see how much you have in common with them. The information is pulled from Facebook.
