For this seventeenth episode, I spoke with Kevin Beales, co-founder of Refract.ai, a coaching platform for sales development reps based on conversation intelligence.

Jeroen: Hello Kevin. It’s a pleasure to have you on Founder Coffee.

 Thank you very much for inviting me.

Jeroen: You’re welcome. You’re the founder of Refract. Refract.ai, should I say, or just refract?

Kevin: I’m not picky.

Jeroen: Refract.ai. For those who digital adaptation of marketing department don’t know Refract.ai, what exactly does your company do?

Kevin: Okay. We analyze sales conversations and help companies profile the coachable moments that happen in calls, demos, and meetings.  These coachable moments have a direct impact on revenue and performance.

Kevin: Both. Phone conversations bz lists and online demonstrations.

Jeroen: How does it work in a face-to-face conversation? Do you put your mobile phone on the table?

Kevin: I already had a business that we exited, and I was thinking about some of my experiences and what we were going to do next. I had a team with me at the time. The challenge of being able to coach, develop, and evolve our sales teams was very real. Yeah, that’s a really bad way to get sales coaching.
