Apparently this is a good method

On Wednesday 2 March, I was a guest on the BNR Nieuwsradio programme ‘Carrière’ together with Jan-Willem Alphenaar. The topic of the conversation was ‘social media burnout’. In the preliminary interview, Jan-Willem joked that he could handle all that information just fine with his ADHD, but in the interview itself we quickly agreed. You have to be careful with social media. Too much information is not good for people.

BNR was triggered by a new campaign by

Achmea, in which former internet pastor Boele Itsma indicates that Twitter, Facebook, etc. were all becoming  iceland phone number list too much for him. He could no longer keep up with all those status updates. It made him sick. Nicholas Carr’s recently translated book on how the internet makes us stupid also contributes to this discussion. Does information overload lead to social media burnout?

I can relate to the story of the pastor very well

I am going crazy with my Tweetdeck . With 1500 people that I follow myself and the 2400 people that follow me, it is almost impossible to read all these messages. Ping, ping, ping… Who ever invented that sonar sound to announce new tweets? A continuous stream of information thunders through my timeline. And what do I do if I miss something? Panic or not? Not so. I have taught myself to only open my Tweetdeck a few times a day and see if something is happening at that moment. The many retweets help me with this.

Switch something off every now and then. Take a step back. Scientific research has shown that we humans are simply not capable of taking in all this information. Our brains block, as it were, after a certain amount of information. This week, Newsweek published an article  atb directory entitled I Can’t Think . Various scientists spoke, all of whom claimed the same thing. Too much information leads to    .  Apparently this is  stupid decisions.  looking to make the switch for your ecommerce store You become irritated, overloaded, you can’t see the big picture.
